It’s far easier to make an untruthful attack than it is to explain why it is false, especially with a media unwilling to call McCain out on it.
<
p>This race is looking more like Kerry v. Bush by the day and the Obama campaign needs to start landing some punches of its own.

that McCain has so much dirt on him that Obama doesn’t need to stretch the truth.
<
p>how come he hasn’t put out an ad yet on the McCain campaign’s lobbyist ties?

Geez, I’m beginning to feel like 2004 didn’t happen at all and all that was written and discussed afterward about the mistakes made either wasn’t written or not read. This is simple Lakoff: negating a frame doesn’t work.
<
p>In any case, even if this video goes viral, so what? It’s only going to be seen by those on-line and paying attention, most of whom are in the choir already.
<
p>I just spent a week on vacation without any Internet access (which has made me rethink the amount of time I spend on the ‘net, but that’s a subject for another post – maybe) and paying about as much attention to politics as probably the average person. Maybe slightly more. What did I hear without my usual blog access? Exactly what the McCain campaign wanted me to hear. No rebuttals, no agenda setting by the Obama camp itself.
<
p>I’m hoping Obama has something in the works to move the conversation to his ground. Otherwise, the idea that he’s just a popular guy without what it takes to be President is going to get well established.

A three-minute rebuttal delivered by a goatee’d guy sitting in an office. That’ll catch fire.
