I heard O’Reilly and Kerry were at the same town event recently on the N. Shore. It was said, as soon as Kerry saw O’Reilly he started for the parking lot. Ed called out to have a debate. Kerry went faster and departed the event. Maybe someone else can provide a different report….?
If this report is accurate (and it is similar to an event I witnessed one night in Lowell), it seems to me Kerry is afraid to debate.
Afraid or not, he is avoiding debate, the one event that will expose Kerry’s refusal to support major MA Dem principles on health care, Iraq, marriage equality, and fair taxes.
The Democratic Party needs debate. Democracy needs debate. We — the voters — deserve to have debate happen.

You might have waited until you had better confirmation for this rumor, uh, report.

I scoured The Globe for any mention of the O’Reilly-Kerry debate controversy and found nothing. That doesn’t mean there’s no controversy. I s’pose I could take away my invitation for confirmation and just say this is a report. I did a different search on BMG and found O’Reilly’s own report quoted.
<
p>FWIW, I personally saw K run away in Lowell. Let that be enough to say that there’s serious debate-avoidance going on in the K camp.
<
p>They say, “no time,” but we have the Nantucket party pics.
<
p>They say, “I’m too important to Obama and the national Dems.” The stats show “Kerry is miserly. Despite his huge advantage, most Democrats have given more to ensure a Democratic Senate than Kerry.” (Or is he claiming his personal presence is so vital to Obama? “That might explain what’s so wrong about the Obama campaign…They are basicaly running the exact same campaign that Kerry ran in 2004….”)
<
p>Bottom line: no further reports needed. Evidence is sufficient. Take away question mark from Diary post title.

Some extra happy college kids wanted a picture with Kerry as he walked by. It’s not just gossip, it’s irrelevant gossip. As for Kerry running away on the North Shore, unless I get confirmation from somewhere else, I’m not going to get excited. Maybe it’s a good story, but in the end it’s just a story.
<
p>Considering that Kerry’s positions remain closer to those of someone hoping to run for President again than someone hoping to represent Massachusetts in the Senate, I know everything I need to know without caring about this gotcha crap. It’s not his actions over the last 60 days that disqualify him to be our Senator; it’s his actions over the past 6 years.

Well that is certainly independent enough confirmation. NOT. Keep that question mark right where it is.

is certainly suggesting that the Senator is vulnerable.

<
p>Okay, so all you good Democrats run on over there and “save” poor John Kerry. But as of right now, the vast majority (77%) see him as vulnerable.

your “poll” is an online poll with no limit on the number of votes one person can cast.
<
p>I would bet serious money that a member of the O’Reilly family sat there and voted a few hundred times.

Kerry’s campaign schedule so constituents know where and when to be to air their concerns. I pointed that out a couple of weeks ago, but nothing has changed.
<
p>When I spoke with Kerry’s planner today about hosting a forum I was told that lots of people have been calling for it;) She said Roger Lau would get back to me….I’m sure to give some sort of excuse.
<
p>I’m about to start calling him chicken! CHICKEN!

It was a good laugh for me!
It’s not often we catch the Bread and Circus events with such clarity. Page five of this paper shows how similar the “opposing” political parties really are.

p>The impending start of WWIII with Russia kind of negates the relevance of the opinions of both political propaganda artists.

That’s the more advanced link.

… for the links — new ones for me. The ‘two party’ system is as close to a snake oil act as it gets. All the more reason to call out the people who purport to represent us, and hold their feet to the fire.
<
p>As for Russia and Georgia: seems to me the Georgians believed another version of snake oil if they thought the US was able or willing to do anything to support their invasion of a Russian fief. Probably a Cheney idea, like in 1975, having ostensibly backed a Kurdish revolt against Saddam Hussein, Kissinger sold out the rebels in return for a secret deal with the shah of Iran…..
