I bought a button press this summer, with the plan of making and distributing 500 Obama buttons before the election. I ask those who take a button to do two things: 1) wear it – no point in giving one to someone who’ll keep it in a drawer; and 2) to make a donation to the campaign at my barackobama.com fundraising page.
So far, I’ve given away about 250 buttons at various events such as the rally in Manchester this weekend, and the campaign has received $364 in donations. With the election fast approaching, I’d like to get the remaining 250 made and out and about on people’s shirts, coats, purses and backpacks.
I currently have four styles – Obama “Change We Need” (from a photo I took in Manchester this weekend), Obama-Biden, Rainbow Obama, and the HRC quote “No Way, No How”. If you would like one, make a donation of at least $5 at the barackobama.com fundraising link I provided, email me your address and preferred design(s) (to beanintheburbs AT hotmail DOT com), and I will snail mail you your choice. I can also, by prior negotiation only, make a small number of custom buttons for a town or event such as the Lexington and Grassroots Coordinators ones shown. (I’m not equipped for large quantities – I’ve got a press that makes one at a time – fine for 15, not so efficient for 100.) I put a sticker on the back of each button indicating that it is a handmade, in-kind contribution to the campaign.
