While the looming fiscal crisis certainly deserves our attention as senators, I think we both have 90 minutes to spare to debate foreign policy issues. Given your years of experience, you certainly don’t need time to prepare. And, we can cut out the travel time and arrange to meet in a studio in DC. You, me, and the moderator.
Yes, the bailout legislation merits our attention. But, so to do two wars, Korea banning inspectors from nuclear facilities, muscle-flexing Russia, want-to-be-nuclear regimes like Iran, and other pressing international issues.
Ninety minutes. We’ve got the time.
