Hi to all.

I posted a similar message to this on RMG and am looking forward to intelligent exchanges on both sites.

I have been reading both RMG and BMG for quite  some time and recently thought I might toss in my 2 cents (post/reply) on both threads .

    Actually I’m enjoying the attention. Ok I’ll try to answer some of the questions:

    10) Ron Paul…  Good or Bad? …tricky… with the thread owner , Patrick, being a Ron Paul fan and libertarian, the wrong answer here could get me booted on my second post…nah, Patrick wouldn’t BMG me that fast.…

    10.) Nick name?  Can we call you Action Jack-son or Jack Attack?
    Wow, if I start using handles like that I’ll be booted from BMG on my first post ( might be anyway when I disagree)

    It does make me wonder why you’re here.  Well-argued, fact-based discussion I hope.  If so, welcome.

    • Probably the most revealing and accurate “welcome” to BMG you could expect.  A great place to talk if you’re honest … but rhetorical three-card monte doesn’t work to well against some of the regulars.  

      • That “Jack” has a posting style identical to the long lost Asa Bearse.  From the use of “..” to link sentence fragments, to swapping commas and spaces ,to his personal obsessions, he’s Asa/Tom’s Opinion, the PITA JohnD only aspires to be.

    Here’s a question: can you at least see WHY many people have an intense reaction to George Bush? Isn’t it kinda odd, doncha think, that actions like torture, where once it was detestable is now patriotic?  I mean… seriously? When I was young, men were returning from a place called Vietnam and, with great sadness and moral horror, saying that American Soldiers were torturing people in that war. They were excorciated and demonized and spit upon and all manner of vileness and calumny was heaped upon them. Americans, they were told, don’t torture.  Now, today, excorciation and calumny are all you can expect if you denounce the POLICY of torture. Americans, it seems, do torture, and gladly.  Isn’t it fundamentally kinda loopy that George Bush is held in esteem for sanctioning, enacting and endorsing a policy that is a mirror of what a young John Kerry said, to his peril?

    You actually can’t be on both sides of that divide.

    And then again, some young men came back from Vietnan actually having BEEN tortured.  One of these men, after a long and distinguished senate career fighting against torture and for reconciliation with Vietnam, now stands with the president who enacts and endorses torture.

    You can’t actually expect me to vote for John McCain under those circumstances, can you?   You can’t actually expect me to take you seriously if you endorse John McCain, can you?  You cannot.
