Dear Middlesex County Democrat,
As you know, this is a historic time for our country, our state and our county.
Democrats have an opportunity to select our nominee for the Office of Middlesex County Register of Probate as we caucus on Wednesday, September 24 at Waltham High School. That nominee will be on the same ballot in the general election as our United States Presidential Democratic nominee, ensuring a large voter turnout.
I will be a candidate for Middlesex County Register of Probate and ask your support at your local caucus and your vote in Waltham on September 24.
A practicing attorney for over twenty years, I currently serve as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Attorney General Martha Coakley. Locally, I hold elected office as a member of the Arlington Housing Authority.
Before becoming an Assistant Attorney General almost ten years ago, I practiced law in state and federal court on the trial and appellate level. I am a graduate of Boston College Law School and Tufts University. A twenty year resident of Arlington, I have long been active in community affairs. I have the experience and the ability to lead the Middlesex County Registry of Probate into an era of reform.
As Register of Probate I am committed to the following priorities:
– Restoring integrity to the office of Register of Probate,
– Creating a culture of performance and accountability,
– Implementing systemic updates to the Registry of Probate operating environment.
Please join me in this campaign. You can reach me with your comments, questions, or expressions of support by phone at (781) 648-0381 or by email, at teresajwalsh@rcn.com.
Sincerely,
Teresa Walsh

in a race with so many people in it, I would expect one to wish to get as many crossover votes, however few they may or may not be.

p>You should go with “Dear Middlesex County Voter” so that Republicans who are looking at the other side of the aisle to see what’s good won’t immediately dismiss you.

Sorry you feel left out, but you are not the target audience for this message.
<
p>Only Democrats and specifically only Democratic Town/Ward Committee members are allowed to vote in Wednesday’s caucus to choose a Democratic nominee for Register of Probate. One has to get on the ballot before worrying about crossover votes.

I know a Republican was trying to get 1000 write-in votes last Tuesday, but I don’t know if he succeeded. As of 1:30 this afternoon, Secretary Galvin’s office still had no official results to give me from the Republican and Working Families parties. I’ll try them again later this afternoon.

Something smells a little fishy. Try calling Secreatry Galvin and see why the tallies are unavailable. I think that with the caucus 48hrs away, they should make every effort to have those numbers available.

I appreciate this forum. In a tight turnaround, caucus race like this, visibility here is so important to reaching out across the county.

p>Good luck! I am looking and listening but remain undecided.

Amber, I’d do this myself if I had the time. Actually, anyone who wants to pick this up – it would be greatly appreciated. I’m responding to Amber since she seems to be on top of this.

p>Here’s the idea: A diary that simply lists the known candidates and, if they have posted to BMG, a link to their posts. Not really for commentary but just a place to go to find everything in one place.
<
p>And then have everyone rec it so it’s easy to find.
<
p>A big thank you in advance if anyone does this!

I put together “Election Watch: Register of Probate” after conducting my own research about the candidates. A lot of the research came from postings on BlueMassGroup, local newspapers and anything else I could find on the Web. The site also contains links to news about the office as well as links to the Middlesex County Probate and Family Court Web site. Please visit the site at:

p>Im glad to see that there are actually a couple of well-qualified candidates for the job, including Tara DeCristofaro, Tom ConCannon and Katherine Triantafillou. Enjoy!

Somehow, I thought there were more than these eleven candidates, but yes, there are several with excellent credentials.
