There’s been rampant speculation over the internet that S. Joe Wurzelbacher is a ‘close relative’ to Robert Wurzelbacher of Milford, OH, a son-in-law of Charles Keating who served time in the early ’90s as a result of the S&L fiasco. Robert is also a big-time Republican contributor.
Buried at the bottom of an article from this morning’s Toledo Blade is this:
Mr. Wurzelbacher’s family seemed stunned by the media attention.
“It’s gone too far,” said his brother, Robert Wurzelbacher. “All he did is ask a question.”
I’m a bit surprised that the press hasn’t picked up on this connection yet- if accurate, it would be an important and bizarre footnote on the McCain campaign’s working-class hero.
apparently the family denies any connection to Keating. Will update if I hear more.
I’m waiting for a more definitive connection. Even so, he has already backtracked and said Obama’s plan would be better for him. I hope he keeps talking, because he’s such an idiot that it discredits the McCain campaign even more than it already is.
I did a white pages search and there are 4 Robert Wurzelbacher’s listed in OH. So I updated the post to reflect its speculative nature..

p>it is also a possibility that brother Robert is Robert Wurzelbacher III and Robert Wurzerlbacher Jr. is Joe’s father. It actually makes more sense time-wise.
Nothing about Joe matters except this:
<
p>He is an example of a working class American who would have a significantly lower tax burden under Obama than under McCain.
