Dad is 86. He has alzheimers and I am glad I was there when he checking into the rehab/nursing home. On putting away his things I noted his wallet was in his pants. Ordinary stuff really. Thirteen dollars and a credit card with a limit of over $25,000. An unsigned credit card.
In other areas the medical profession appears to be on the up and up in spite of my radically different impressions. Time will tell here but for sure it is a life changing event that can be catastrophic for the entire family. Preparation is key and legal advice on elder care issues should be a mandatory class in high school.
