Clearly, Finneran is a baby and pretty disingenuous, but if you’re curious why this also makes him a fraud (and have a strong stomach) take a listen to this interview from Monday that Finneran conducted with crackpot Phil Berg, who is suing Barack Obama on the crackpot grounds that Obama is not really a “natural born citizen” of the US, and thus ineligible to be elected President…

During the course of this 25 minute barf-at-thon, Finneran indulges Berg and all of his kookery- calling him a “gentleman” and always referring to Berg as “Attorney Phil Berg” (one assumes the fallen Speaker is simply jealous that Berg hasn’t lost his law licence because of a felony conviction- as Finneran has). Finneran goes so far as to say that there are “big big questions” about Obama’s birth, that “there’s a lot there” regarding Berg’s theories,” and says “I’m not saying Barack’s not a citizen, but I’m curious. I’m curious. I think that Phil Berg’s doing a good job indulging our curiosity on this.”
Finneran is a fraud because he indulges and encourages the most ridiculous and unfounded allegations getting thrown around his show about a national Democratic leader, but the mere suggestion he could possible be influenced by cash (even when it’s stuffed into a campaign account, rather than a bra) he’s totally outraged and will broach no discussion whatsoever.
He’s a fraud, and really terrible radio (though swearing at his guests is kind-of entertaining, in a schadenfreude kind of way). It’s difficult to understand why WRKO keeps him on.

Do I see an FCC fine in WRKO’s future?
