“Senator Obama is a once-in-a-lifetime candidate who will transform our politics and restore America’s standing in the world,” Weld said in a statement released Friday. “We need a president who will lead based on our common values and Senator Obama demonstrates an ability to unite and inspire.
“Throughout this campaign I’ve watched his steady leadership through trying times and I’m confident he is the best candidate to move our country forward,” Weld said.

Obama should decline this endorsement from the man who rode to electoral victory on the backs of the poor and the misfortuntate. Weld may be a good time to have a beer with – but he is still a low-life.

If Colin “WMD in Iraq” Powell and Scott “if I’m breathing, I’m lying” McLellan can endorse, why not Weld?

I never voted for Weld, didn’t care for his waspish attitudes towards the hoi polloi, and thought he was a snob. However, give the guy some credit: he stood up to the bigots and was very helpful to those who believe in equality for all people, including gays. Also, I respect people who are able to change their minds about topics, people and voting. The guy is not a “rat.”
