Good news from the NY Times, which is taking a far more conservative approach to polling than our friends at pollster.com:
New Hampshire, which The Times had rated as a toss-up, is now shifted as leaning to Mr. Obama, based on polling and interviews with Republican and Democratic officials…. North Carolina, a state that is normally is about as red as they get, is being moved into the toss-up column…. Oregon, which had been leaning toward Mr. Obama, has now gone from light to solid blue.
Pollster.com had already classified NH as “lean blue” and NC as a tossup, as the map in the upper right-hand corner shows. And pollster.com, for its part, has reclassified GA from “strong red” to “lean red,” apparently based on a recent poll showing McCain’s lead within the margin of error.
If there’s been any good news for McCain on the electoral map recently, I haven’t seen it. And I’ve been looking.
