The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority heard from North Shore commuters what they thought of the toll increase. Needless to say, they didn’t like the idea.
To a person the hearing in Lynn on Monday evening, December 15, provided commuters who use the tunnels daily that the MTA and Commonwealth should find a more equitable way to fund operations. Maybe even abolition of the MTA itself?
The Daily Item of Lynn has good coverage of the hearing and video of a pre-hearing rally where a number of State Reps spoke: http://www.thedailyitemoflynn….
This proposed toll increase is not equitable and is not a sound transportation or energy policy solution.
