Of course, there is always the threat that Wal-Mart shutters the store. But if we can successfully unionized another store, and then another, and then another… then Wal-Mart can’t shut them all down, right?
It’s a stiff challenge, but I’m going to be doing some work with Wake Up Wal-Mart this holiday season to make sure that this momentum continues.

Walmart has already closed three Canadian stores who’ve voted to unionize over the last few years. Sure, it propagates loathsome labor practices around the world and undermines the capitalist structure around here, but it helps johnD save some pennies on pickles, you betcha!
Let the other store unionize, buy goods made in the USA… and see how long the “other store” stays in business.
should have the right to unionize. this isn’t about having a store next door… this is about worker rights.
