Continuing FY09 9C budget cuts and the FY10 budget may result in significant budget cuts to public health systems, including HIV/AIDS. It is vital that the HIV/AIDS community makes its voice heard at the State House to protect the funds that protect people at risk of HIV/AIDS and keep people living with HIV/AIDS healthy and connected to care. Make your voice heard: Tell the State House no more cuts to the AIDS Line Item.
Please attend the AIDS Budget Lobby Day, sponsored by Project ABLE and supported by the Massachusetts Coalition to End HIV (MCTEH) at the State House on January 29, from 10-12 and bring others!
Please share widely!

Then do something about it.

With the thousands of line items in the budget, well, I know some but not all and not “this one” so it would help me to “do something about it” to know the line item, look up the history of the line item, and be able to monitor and refer to the line item by number when I support funding for HIV/AIDS.
<
p>So, question one: Does this issue [HIV/AIDS] prevention and care have its own line item? If so, what is the number? If not, in what other line item is it wrapped?

p>Essentially the message is restore the 1.5 million cut from the AIDS line item 4512-0103 in October (9C cuts) and in the same line item fund a $500,000 initiative to reduce the explosive HIV/AIDS epidemic that is reemerging among gay and bisexual men.
