The MLK Day New Yorker has a long note on the SoapBlox hack that briefly brought down BMG and a host of other lefty bloggers for up to a couple of days. Staff writer Jeffrey Toobin doesn't mention this blog, but does cover the details we pretty much know in his Hack Attack featurette.
He does cite founder/overload of Daily Kos Markos Moulitsas.
“We have built this new progressive movement on a lot of volunteer labor, a shoestring budget, a lot of heart and soul, but not a lot of resources…We’ve got to professionalize our movement, and we can’t rely only on labors of love, like what (SoapBlox founder Paul Preston) did.”
Over at SoapBlox, Preston writes that this is underway. He points to a new sysadmin group with a full-time admin. There will be new servers, clean drives and software. In short, he's taking the money raised by BMG and other lefty blogs to make sure we can all keep doing it.

And albeit money is scarce, even I ponied up. No restaurants for at least two months maybe three – even a burger on the road is a luxury these days, mostly it is peanut butter sandwiches in the brief case.

if you unwrap the brief case from around the sandwich before eating, it tastes a lot better and is much more tender.

salad and pasta salad.

p>A good salad will cost a little more than pb&j, but pasta salad probably costs way less and tastes much, much better.
<
p>I still have nightmares of all those years of sandwiches going to school. I don’t think I could eat another home made sandwich in my life. I’ve made a point with all the lunches I’ve had since I’ve turned 18 to do something way different than the first 18 years of my life…

like PB&J in a few years. It just takes time my friend. PB&J, Bologna and cheese, you name it. This trial separation will come to an end and you and the ‘school sandwich’ will be reunited.

p>You might even have a Capri Sun to go with it.
