Stump is the unassuming name of the Sussex Spaniel who just won Best In Show at the Westminster Dog Show. How can you not love that face? đŸ™‚
Stump has a nice story. He almost died in 2004 of a strange ailment, and he had retired from the ring several years ago before giving it one last shot this year. At 10, he’s the oldest dog ever to win Westminster, and the first Sussex Spaniel.

Too many youngsters nippin’ at their heels, give ’em one more win before they’re gone and forgotten. Makes me think of Jimmy Connors and the 1991 “US Open semifinals …where…at the age of 39, on his birthday, he defeated 24-year-old Aaron Krickstein in 4 hours and 41 minutes, coming back from a 2-5 deficit in the final set.”

p>Way to go Jimmy.
Way to go Stump.
that is the funkiest looking cat I’ve ever seen. What were the judges thinking?
…not the length of his ears….
