  1. He has been known for not showing up for most City Council meetings. If elected as Mayor, would he bother showing up for this job?

    • Supposedly, he missed a couple of general meetings, and a lot of budget committee meetings during his first year in office, but he was not the only councilor to miss a lot of meetings. So before you start hyperventilating about second and third hand reports of his poor attendance, let’s see a breakdown of all city councilor’s attendance. Until the council publishes its attendance records, I have no reason to believe that his attendance is any different from any other councilor’s including Flaherty.

      • It was widely reported that Mr. Yoon was absent from many City Council meetings during his first term.  

        • As far as I know the source of the information was one other city councilor’s comment. Sounds like hearsay to me.

          p>I believe he did miss some meetings but until we see some context about what typical council attendance is like, this criticism doesn’t have much weight.

Sam Yoon has a good record in the City Council meetings, but this rumor that he’s often absent got started after Sam disagreed with the Mayor on a matter of governance.  Sam has in fact asked that attendance records be kept, but other councilors oppose it to mask their own poor attendance records.
