The Progressive Revolution, with Mike Lux

March 6, 2009 By shai-sachs

The Progressive Revolution gives fresh life to the chapters of American history that conservatives want to forget. Lux demonstrates that progressives and the progressive movement have forged the kind of country in which we want to live. This clear and accessible account does more than set the record straight on such great progressive achievements as women’s suffrage, national parks, Social Security, civil rights legislation, and restoring the environment. It builds a platform from which to argue that progressives today continue the centuries-old struggle to improve America and advance the cause of freedom, in contrast to how conservatives have always worked to defend the interest of elites and instill fear of big changes. Lux also advocates for progressives and Democrats to abandon the "Culture of Caution" and take big, bold steps to take advantage of this opportunity for major change.

Mike is the President of Progressive Strategies LLC, a progressive political consulting firm. He also co-founded the blog OpenLeft.com with Matt Stoller and Chris Bowers, and served in the Clinton White House and on the Obama/Biden Transition team as an adviser for progressive outreach.

Note: If you cannot make it that night, Mike will also be speaking next Friday as part of the Jamaica Plain Forum.

Another one in the L column for Lyons as his last ditch effort to rid a vote against him (through appeal) fails. #mapoli

I spoke to one of the presenters. It is meant to (and more importantly, the bill as written *does*) encourage live organ donation by incarcerated people, a disproportionately Black and Brown population. #mapoli

Joshua B. Hoe @JoshuaBHoe

Maybe they mean that you agreed to donate upon death? But I am not sure that language works...you can't promise a donation and have donated...at least I don't think you can?
