The Patrick administration plans to announce today that there was no deliberate job action, nor a concerted effort by Massachusetts Turnpike Authority managers, to create a logjam on the state’s main road last weekend, an administration official said yesterday.
The announcement will blame the intense traffic tie-ups over the Easter weekend on turnpike chief Alan LeBovidge’s decision not to call more than a handful of workers in on overtime to replace sick employees, a cost-saving measure.
So, no sickout, no job action, no strike by the women and men who worked – understaffed – on Easter.
Those of you who played radio talk show host in Kate’s posting a few days ago and toll collector-bashed (with a single fact to bak it up) owe the toll collectors a big “I’m sorry and I was wrong”.
Feel free to post that anytime JohnD, Mike from Lowell, LiveandLetLive and Ed Poon
What a job breathing in all that exhaust and brake particles.
I was bashing management for the backup on Good Friday and Easter, not the Pike workers. I have zero love for the Pike workers and look forward to the day they are all unemployed but I did not blame them for the mess over that weekend. Check your facts!
