The Roosevelt Dinner is the main fundraiser for the Democratic Party. It will be this coming Wednesday 5/13 at 6 PM at the Fairmont Copley in Boston. It would be great to have a good crowd. One of the advantages of the more informal cocktail party format of the Roosevelt Dinner is that there is still plenty of room at my “table.” In addition to selling tickets I set out to raise $400 in the activist program. I have now doubled that goal and I am trying to reach a goal of $800. If I hit that goal then four donors will be able to attend. Only $85 to go! A donation of any amount is welcome! (I know the goal says $1050. There is an explanation. A very generous donor bought a full price ticket on the Four Hundred Club page so I just reset the goal to reflect that. It does make sense, really.)
Thanks to all who have donated and purchased tickets (or both!)! Click here for event details.

I came back from vacation Sunday, am in court tues, Weds & Friday and have a major brief due 5/19 AND I simply don’t have either the time or the money. The “vote” I would like to have had would have been either:
<
p>A. None of the above.
<
p>or
<
p>B. I would come if I could.
<
p>Not that this is new; I have never attended this event, or any event that cost $250.00 each as we have two kids in college, and between the wage freeze on my husband and the impact of the economy on my cash flow [I am self employed] discretionary spending has to be very, very carefully done. So I am donating time – but not money above $50.00 and even that, with care.
The couple of times I’ve gotten in I’ve pulled the old “Do you need volunteers to staff the event?” trick.
It is because of the high cost that the MDP introduced the Four Hundred Club. If you raise $400 in donations of whatever size, then you and a guest can attend. So just 8 donations at $50 and you have hit your goal. I am looking good for getting people who make contributions in the door. If you want to attend, just make a contribution of ANY amount at my ActBlue page then give me a call at 508-404-8531.
You too can buy a state job! I thought the demodcratic party was for the poor and downtrodden. Not in Massachusetts, evidently.
I think I’ll check out Christy Mihos in Fitchbirg for free.
I am not sure what the “make a donation” is or how it works so as to not need to buy a $250 dinner to get the “rubber chicken” – BUT – Bill – don’t you READ before you post???
Just think of the crap MCRD and JohnD would give him. Next you’ll be suggesting people proofread their own posts!
Where does the money go? To further the stranglehold the democratic state government has on us? Haven’t you done enough to us non=democrats already? I would rather donate my $250 in increments to local worthy causes. Just today, I bought 10 chocolate chip cookies for $6 to support the Worcester State College School of Nursing. I consider this a much worthier cause than some fat-assed dems looking to pad their wallets. Yeah, I read the Herald today. John Binienda is mentioned in an unpositive light again. Maybe if our democratically controlled state government actually DID the right thing, these nice young people wouldn’t have to be baking and selling cookies. Sorry folks, I proofread this post. Please pick on a legitimate point this time.
