WBZ is reporting that the New York Post is reporting that Deval PAtrick will be ‘rescued’ from his ‘sagging poll numbers’ with an appointment as US Attorney.
the Supreme court speculation was nonsense; it Obama didn’t appoint him to a Cabinet or Secretary post, he wasn’t saving him for the High Court.
But replacing Mike Sullivan? That seems possible.

The Post is making shit up, as usual, and WBZ is breathlessly going along for the ride. Accepting the MA-US Attorney job would make no sense. Patrick has stated repeatedly that he is running for reelection in 2010 and has no intention of bailing out of his job. To bail out now would result in his losing tons of credibility in exactly the community — Massachusetts — in which credibility is essential to be effective as US Attorney. There could hardly be a worse position for him to take.
