Never have been able to figure that out. There was a disappointing gasp across the land when he did that. He lost 25 percentage points in appeal. Who was on his Vice Presidential selection committee?

Wrong campaign, sorry! I still remember the disappointing gasp (must have been coming from me). I just cannot like Joe Liebeman. Why on earth did Al Gore pick him? I really like Al Gore. And why did John Kerry pick Edwards. Even Obama’s pick is questionable, although I do like Joe Biden, but he was risky. Joe Lieberman is more than risky, useless is the better word.

with Kerry in ’04 I just didn’t trust him enough, he seemed like a person that pundits predicted would run for president and he was short on substance. But when he did run in ’08 I had a better feeling about him, but all that is gone now with his implosion. I think I’d pick Lieberman if I had to choose between the two now. But agreed that there were not the best running mates.

He was the first Democrat to call out Clinton for the latter’s personal shenanigans and Gore was pursuing the run-away-from-Clinton strategy. Unfortunately that meant he could not/would not capitalize on a very successful presidency. Don’t forget that this was pre-9/11 so the progressive wing’s biggest beef with Lieberman, supporting the Iraq campaign, didn’t exist yet.

This guy had “I am a creep” in neon lights around him, and despite that he maintained a crowd of sycophant democrats who hung on his every word. I really am stunned that human beings seem to gravitate to the superficial and avoid looking at the inner person. What is it about a charlatan that they don’t perceive?

ever win the primary in the first place? That was the most devastating election in my lifetime. I honestly felt like crying when Bush won again. I was sick, physically sick about it. Losing Gore was hard to take, but there was hope that Bush would only last 4 years. Gyod, I will give myself 6 more months to get over the nightmare of the 8 years of hell we had to endure with GWB. We cannot ever let that happen again.

In this case the ones who actually served WITH Kerry came forward to vouch for him just prior to the Iowa caucus. Dean was a lot of hype, but the last minute deciders broke for Kerry. I for one supported Kerry from the beginning as the person in the race best prepared to be President and I have no regrets on that. In hindsight he might have pushed harder to challenge Ohio results, but otherwise I can’t think of any states that Kerry lost that a different candidate might have won.

So Mitt and Jeb are doing a tour and Mitt decides to slam Palin. When asked about Time’s most Influential list including Palin, Mitt chimes Most Beautiful? or Most Influential? Just what the GOP need infighting between possible presidential candidates more than 3 years before the next election. In an interview with the New York Times, Specter stated in no uncertain terms that he wants Norm Coleman to win the disputed Minnesota Senate race: “There’s still time for the Minnesota courts to do justice and declare Norm Coleman the winner.”
So what exactly are the Dems getting out of this whole deal?
Loyal Republicans across Cape Cod are plowing money into a town clerk candidate in order to build up their bench. While I understand that the thinness of ranks forces Republicans to do what it takes to find someone to put in office somewhere, it often takes the form of trying to turn town elections into partisan affairs.
