Is it homophobia? Did the red states beat the blue states? Was it David beating Goliath? Was Adam too out there? Or did he just peak too soon?
Do you know what I am talking about or are BMG readers too good for American Idol.
I voted for Adam. How about you?
I still think his Mad World performance was one of the best.

That’s not how I feel, but I certainly have no idea what you’re talking about.

was a very clever ploy by Fox of causing a political stir and discussion over this finale in an attempt to get higher ratings.

p>It does appear that Adam did better in the blue states.

that chart is messed up with the coloring. Also, the bible belt is pretty split.

He is a very talented singer, but personally I am not really interested in listening to him and even less in watching him. Everything about him cries out “Las Vegas Headliner”, or perhaps “70’s rock star”. It was cool seeing him with the remains of Queen and Kiss last night but there is a reason that bands like that are not popular any more. I am sure that he will have a great career, but I am not especially surprised that more people voted Kris. Kris is more likable and his style of singing is closer to what most people want to listen to.

A bunch of his songs were posted on Towleroad, a blog I read a lot. Boy does that kid SCREECH. I’m sorry, I don’t care how wide his vocal range is, there’s only so many songs that I want to hear someone screech in. He was butchering amazing music in almost every song I heard him sing in. (I will agree that his Mad World song from a few weeks back was good – I think it’s the only one I actually liked).

p>There are good singers out there who recognize that their music should be fun and accessible: I love Jason Mraz, for example, not only for his amazing voice (and it is amazing), but because his songs are so much fun to sing along to. Could I “sing along” with Adam Lambert? Probably, I can hit most of his notes, but why would I want to ruin good music like that?
