It’s perhaps not exciting. But a lot of people opined that it made sense for a lot of reasons, and ultimately we all agreed that simple, (relatively) dignified, and clearly identifiable was the best way to go.
However, there were a lot of very witty suggestions, and we’re sticking to our commitment to give a prize to the winner. We unanimously chose the first comment on the thread: “The Empire Strikes PAC,” by TedF. Excellent leveraging of the word “PAC,” and also a clever reference to the drolly-entitled BMG Media Empire, the LLC that owns this blog. Well done, Ted! Email me offline and let me know which piece of spectacular merchandise you’d like!
In other news, folks outside the state seem to have taken note of our decision to form a PAC. I didn’t think it was that big a deal, but what do I know?
Anyway, now that we have a name, we have some paperwork to deal with. Once that’s done, we’ll be back with more on how this thing is going to work.

And then it is OK to collect with a can. If you get $1 from the same person every weekend, the contributioni will have exceeded the $50 threshold and you need to report the name and address.
Take Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas off and you’re in the clear.
