As you know (or if you don’t, you should!) tomorrow is the state Democratic party’s “issues convention.” Big item on the agenda: whether to amend and/or adopt the new platform that we’ve been hearing so much about. Also worth hearing will be Obama campaign manager David Plouffe’s keynote address, particularly since it has just been announced that Plouffe will play a leading role in Governor Patrick’s 2010 bid for reelection.
I was planning to attend the convention and live-blog a lot of the goings-on, but unfortunately, last-minute changes in plans have made that impossible. So I’m hoping that BMGers in attendance will post frequent updates about what they’re seeing and hearing. I believe that there is wireless throughout the facility.
Have fun!

and am bringing my flip video camera, so hopefully i’ll catch some good interviews to post.
<
p>also, I hope lots of people will attend the Netroots/electronic workshop afterwards — extra bonus points for going to the Social Networking breakout discussion group. We can bicker back and forth over whether Twitter is useful discuss ways in which Facebook and other Social Networking tools can be used successfully in campaigns and on issues we care about, as well as how to build up your networks (because they aren’t useful without ’em).

that no bags were allowed in. How serious is this? I understand their desire for us to not smuggle in food, preferring that we spend crazy money on crap Aramark food.
<
p>But, I like to bring things. A book. A notepad. A sweater.
<
p>So, what’s the scoop? I don’t really want to have to double back to my ride’s car if I get turned away…
ryepower12 says
brought mine anyway.
<
p>they cannot possibly make me leave my laptop bag outside.
stomv says
I’m a lowly rank and file attendee…
ryepower12 says
I’m going for free.
<
p>I can’t imagine they won’t let you bring in a small bag of some kind, or a laptop bag. Say it’s for the netroots workshop đŸ˜‰
stomv says
$50.

But for the past few years C-SPAN has provided tote bags. Not sure if they’re doing it again this year but you might be able to bring your stuff in sans bag and come out with one.
ryepower12 says
I don’t know if the loot’s going to be as good in a non nominations convention. Others would know better đŸ˜‰
sco says
But I doubt John Kerry is going to be handing out canvas grocery bags this year like he did in 2008.
sabutai says
Those bags go quick though…score ’em while you can.

<
p>So I’m bringing my stuff in a tote. I didn’t realize that there would be wireless access so now I’m considering putting my laptop in the bag also.
stomv says
since when is a regular backpack bigger than a tote bag? I hate tote bags, much prefer backpacks. Grrr…
