If you pay attention to Boston media, you’ve almost certainly run across Charlie Pierce. He’s a staff writer for the Globe Magazine, and he’s a regular on NPR’s “Only a Game” and “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me.”
Charlie has recently published a new book, called “Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue in the Land of the Free.” A provocative title, no? He’ll be here on BMG tomorrow (Wednesday) morning TODAY at 10 a.m. to chat about it. We’ll use the “Cover It Live” online chat system again, which will allow you to send in questions as well as follow our conversation in real time.
Hope you can join us!
Please share widely!
He is also a member of the Murderer’s Row of Esquire magazine contributors (Esquire is one of the best publications in America; top-notch journalism). I doubt I’ll be available tomorrow at 10:00 am, but I’ll try to get to a computer.

p>Pierce wrote a fantastic 2005 Esquire piece titled Greetings from Idiot America which I eventually cribbed for a 2007 BMG post*; in fact, Pierce’s piece was the main inspiration for my post that day, even though I read the article 18 months before hand.

p>*Unfortunately, the links in my 2007 post that lead to photos of the Creation “Museum” no longer work. 🙁
