Just off the phone with K’s office in DC, asking him not to sign the one-sided letter related to Israel and the Middle East that Senators Bayh (D-IN) and Risch (R-ID) are circulating in the Senate.
I should be used to it by now, but the staffer told me K “needed time to read the letter” and then hung up on me when I said that was not believable. Is there any better way to say you don’t care what your constituents think than hanging up on them? Read the letter yourself. It’s one page. (See Bayh-Risch letter) How long did it take to read?

I don’t like that alternative spelling of “publicly.” Apparently “publically” is acceptable, though barely, but “publicly” is shorter and also preferred. Therefore, Kerry should not sign the letter until “publically” is replaced with “publicly.”

…but it’s quite possible he hadn’t had a chance to read (and consider its implications) yet. I know there are things on my to-do list that wouldn’t take more than 5 minutes, but I just haven’t gotten to it.

When we asked for help on the egregious federal off-set law/windfall provision in the 90’s and the early part of this decade (we gave up) and we finally made a contact with Kerry’s office, it was useless.

p>Justice would be served for members of Congress to personally fund the losses to low income workers that got hit with this farce. Alternatively, Congress could grant to expand their health care program to include those who have lost pension funding due to their bad legislation. While we’re at it, we should definitely urge Congress to expand their health care program to their employers, the American taxpayers.

Have been super-rude forever. and ever. There’s nothing new there. And yet, we still vote for him.

I have his Washington number in my cell phone, and I call frequently about important issues. I’ve always been respectful when calling, and I’ve always been respected – if you’re not getting the latter, you might want to try the former…

is always respectful. We’re in the business of making friends. Evidently, one’s treatment may depend where are on the food chain you happen to be.

Knowing who you’re representing might help folks understand what’s going on here…

John Kerry. Don’t be upset with his staff, they are paid to hold his mirrors and not much else.
