BMG and RMG member extraordinaire Laurel seems to have been missing as of late. While I didn’t agree with her on many issues, I enjoy the back and forth, and she brought a certain level of ombudsmanship(is that a word?) to RMG.
Her last post or comment on RMG was on March 30, 2009 and her last on BMG was at the end of June.
Do people who know her know if she is OK? Or is she just taking a break from all this blogging stuff? I’m genuinely interested. It seems much lie a raj disappearance all of a sudden.
Thx – Rob

…so I looked up her other handle that she uses on other blogs; she still seems to be posting so I presume she is alive and kicking.
<
p>Anyone who followed her closely enough knows her other handle and where else she posts. I’m not going to publicly out her other handle as I don’t recall her ever explicitly stating at BMG what her other identity is, but I can say she has posted as recently as today.
<
p>Laurel is a clear voice and great asset to BMG and to any cause in which she involves herself; I hope she decides to continue her participation here in the future.

and thank you for continuing to respect my anonymity. i’ve learned that there are connections between gop operatives here and in massachusetts. to the extent any of them might care who i am, i want them to have to do as much of their own detective work as possible. đŸ˜‰

But thank you for responding to this diary – I was beginning to wonder myself. Good luck on Referendum 71!

Thanks Bob for pinging me!

p>Very kind words EaBo, thank you. I’m still alive and blogging, but so incredibly busy with Washington state politics that I haven’t had the time to spend over here at BMG. I do miss it, and hope to return soon. We’re facing Referendum 71 in WA, which seeks to roll back our new domestic partnership law. We should know in a week or so if it’ll be on the ballot. If it is, dont’ expect to see me until Nov. If it isn’t, hellow again BMG and watch out RMG! ;D
<
p>Tell everyone you know to tell everyone they know in Washington to join up with Washington Families Standing Together (WAFST.org). Voters will be asked to reject or accept the new domestic partnership law. Vote ACCEPT on Referendum 71 to preserve the domestic partnership law.

Rob, You were pointed out to me in Chelmsford. There was a lot going on and I didn’t have a chance to introduce myself. It was good to put a face to the name. Nice of you to ask after Laurel. I do consider that we are a real on-line community.

p>Or not. Someday we’ll meet. I’ve learned that in Massachusetts if I limit my friendships to those I agree with, I don’t have many friendships indeed.
