Except it’s not THAT Joe Kennedy. Here is the website of a man by that name who appears to have filed as an independent, but whose views trend libertarian. I can’t help but wonder how many votes he’ll get in the general election based on people thinking he’s the former Congressman and the late Senator’s nephew.

The question is how many people can he fool into volunteering for him to get enough signatures to make it on the ballot.

17,000 isn’t alot any registered voter can sign for an independent candidate. Even people who do realize he’s not that Joe Kennedy may still sign on the principle that people should be allowed to run.

You might be able to collect a couple of thousand by yourself but that many signatures will require a significant number of volunteers to stand around with clipboards.

p>BTW, this is exactly why I think the signature requirement is a good thing.
