Inside the corner office. Governor and some staff and friends having casual conversation eating lunchtime sandwiches from Primos (my favorite) at a conference table.
Narrator: We enter as our beloved governor is enjoying this rare communal feast with the staff.
Deval:
Sure he was happy. He was more then happy. I thought he might of been crying. He thanked me a million times. I could hear Kitty in the background yelling “Yippee”.
But anyway, it’s a great move. Even Duke’s enemies have no problem with this. He’ll go down there and people will remember him and respect him for no other reason than he was the Democratic nominee for President at one time. He has no business conflicts either. This could not have worked out better. You guys really gave me good advice this time.
Cell phone ring tone playing Hannah Montana song goes off.
Deval:
Excuse me, I have a call on the cell.
Helllooo, this is the Governor. (said with smile)
Yes, hello, I didn’t know You had this number. Good to hear from you though.
No, my staff and I were just having lunch and patting ourselves on the back for giving this Senate thing to Mike Duk…What’s that? (smile disappears from his face – we hear his one-sided conversation)
I see.
Uh hum.
Really?
No, sorry, I won’t question what you tell me again.
Wow
OK then. nuff said.
Bye
Change in plans people. Paul Kirk will be the new Senator.
Goddamnit, they didn’t put pickles in my tuna sub. Pass the chips.
None of your business who that was.
Would do something like that. He’s cool enough.
YOU know who made that call and you did not list them, either.
<
p>I never had a Primo’s sandwich, where are they, anyway?
He was talking to AmberPaw! Say hello to Deval for me!
Mind, I do answer my phone Mr. Maul. As my real name appears in each post, google it, you get the office number. Call me any time. I return calls too – that is if they are audible, leave a real number to call back, and aren’t from telemarketers and the like.
It is, isn’t it, Burlington Maul?
is a sandwich shop on Myrtle Street. They used to be better than they are today although back then I could digest anything. Now, at my advanced age, their Super Italia would probably land me in the emergency room.
Governor more political credit than he deserves, but is it possible he went with Kirk because he didn’t want to insult the Kennedy family like another governor with very low approval ratings (lower than Patrick’s, I might add)?
because he was told to go with Kirk. Didn’t you read EB’s transcript? EB was there. You can go and sin and think he is not watching you but he is there.
