For months, conservative Democrats told us that that the public option could never pass through the Senate, and our President indicated his willingness to give up on the idea. But thanks to a groundswell of popular support, the public option has made a remarkable comeback!
As Congress gears up for a full-fledged debate later this month, now is the time to let your voice be heard! Join us on Wednesday, October 14th, for a lunchtime rally at John Kerry’s Boston office at One Bowdoin Square, on the corner of New Chardon Street and Cambridge Street.
Organizers will be on hand with Sharpies and crates of lemons, and rally participants will be invited to prepare their own do-it-yourself message for our Senator. We suggest: “Give us the public option, not a lemon.” But calls for a single-payer system are also encouraged! At the conclusion of the rally, we will deliver the lemons up to Senator Kerry’s office on the tenth floor.
I spoke with Kerry’s DC staff this afternoon. Question: “Is the Senator committed to voting for a final bill only if it contains a strong public option?” Answer: “The Senator has made no comment on that, sir.”

great idea.

p>Do you think we could double the number of lems and deliver some to Kirk too?

I’m deeply disappointed in John Kerry, and feel betrayed, by his vote for the awful Baucus-Grassley bill in the Finance committee. This bill will now move to the Senate floor to poison the far superior product from the Senate HELP committee.

p>Shame on Kerry.

john kerry to actually step forward and stand for something BEFORE it is a fait accompli, they should be taken out for drinks after the rally.
