The life of a candidate for U. S. Senate. On Friday he’s at the Westin in Boston with President Barack Obama saying, “My great friend, Congressman Mike Capuano is in the house, so give Mike a big round of applause.” The next day he is at an “Open Mike” event in Westborough. One day being introduced by the President, the next day by me. I’m sure there is some deep significance there somewhere. Does that mean that President Barack Obama and I are somehow related? đŸ˜‰
There were close to 100 people at the “Open Mike” event. I was impressed at the number of people who came out on a rainy Saturday afternoon to hear Congressman Capuano. People came from as far as Ludlow, Attleboro, Concord and Littleton.
Rep. Jim O’Day from Worcester was there and spoke about his reasons for supporting Congressman Capuano’s race for Senate.
The room was filled with supporters, as well as people who came to listen and learn. Person after person who came in undecided, left ready to vote for Congressman Capuano for U. S. Senate.
Congressman Jim McGovern’s endorsement is influential across the state, but it carries special weight here in the Third Congressional District. I found that made a big difference as I mentioned it to people.
I tried to get BMGers out to the event by pitching it as a “BMG Party.” It’s always nice to socialize with other hard core Democrats. There were a number of people who came out including some BMGers. MetroWest Dem came to the event and joined us for dinner.
Watch BMG for more opportunities to meet Congressman Capuano.
