Discussion item #1: What do you think (outside the realm of the Senate race) about the possibility of a final reconciled bill w/o a public option?
Discussion iten #2: One might be tempted to now ask each Senate candidate how they would vote if no public option were included, and that clearly illustrates the problem with these types of questions. If there’s a definite yes or no based on multiple single features of the bill, do we have to draw up a multi-dimensional matrix to figure out each potential Senator’s vote?
I still think the right answer is “I’ll make the decision when I see the whole, final bill”. Unfortunately, no one has said that yet.

Having information on statements Senators have made about their position on the public option, in essence a whip count, can really inform this discussion.

p>What’s also clear is that pressure applied to key Senators helps so if the progressive caucus (PCCC) is raising money to run ads in pro public option Arkansas to persuade Blanche Lincoln to vote yes on public option, contributing helps the cause.

You do need an account to post letters and if you pay for access I believe you can avoid all the ads, but I read it daily usually without logging in and I definitely don’t pay for it.
