Absentee ballots will be available in the next few days.
This shuld make it very easy to vote “over the counter” at your city or town hall. Rather than mailing in a request for a ballot, then having the ballot mailed to you, and then mailing it back, vote in person.
Students, DC operatives, snow birds and others who are registered here but won’t be around on the 19th can easily vote now.
While you are at it, think about becoming a registered Democrat before December 31 so that you can take part in the Democratic caucuses. You can do it right then and there. I know, relentless. I can’t help myself. I’m an addict.

…when it comes to the general election she is pointing out an EASIER way for EVERYBODY to vote (though technically you need a good faith reason to believe you’ll be out of town on election day. As for the caucus, yes that’s Democrats only; Republicans have their own.
The special election for US Senator. You folks do try your best to have an election in your favor. the 1 AM Senate vote is an abhorrence to democracy.
All 100 Senators voted, despite the hour. No problem.
Both parties had contested primaries on the same day. The general election is open to all voters. State law sets the polling hours. Not sure how it can be more fair.
