Boys will be boys

January 18, 2010 By David

Here’s the video.  You be the judge.

Oh, Scott.  Politico:

Democrats made hay earlier today of the report of an ugly comment at a Scott Brown event: “Shove a curling iron up her butt” a crowd member shouted of Coakley in West Springfield.

The video above appears to show Brown smiling at the line and nodding, before returning to his message: “We can do this.”

The jibe isn’t out of the blue: It’s a reference to the charge, explored at length recently by the Boston Globe, that Coakley failed to aggressively prosecute a sexual abuse case involving a curling iron.

The video is not unlike the one Democrats pushed earlier in which he snickered at a question about President Obama’s birth; more experienced public figures know they can be judged not just by what they say, but by how they respond.

In other YouTube-related news, our Brown/Palin/Obama videos have become wildly popular.  The short one focusing just on the Obama comment has been seen nearly 40,000 times in the day and a half or so that it’s been up; the longer version that includes the Palin comments has almost 15,000 views.

He clearly hears the comment. He pauses. He smiles. Then he says “we can do this.”

The fact that in a moderate/liberal state like Mass, we have very few moderate or liberal voices on the radio or TV has definitely turned the tide here. I’m a huge sports fan but stopped listening to WEEI because the comments by the on-air personalities were nauseating and appealed to the lowest common denominator. 1510 AM is the only decent station, but it doesn’t reach enough people.

It seems to me the the free market system, the system that most of us cherish, would embrace moderate/liberal radio if it could only turn a profit. Even righties would be thrilled to produce leftie radio if there was any money in it. What a country!

p>BTW, Eagan and Braude are pretty moderate as is Finneran.

It has nothing to do with the free market system and everything to do with the media conglomerates being concentrated in few and very conservative hands.

If a “media conglomerate” could market you and AmberPaw and make more money than they do with Rush and the two morons on TKK, they would do it in a minute.

            <

p>I won’t listen to Rush. I tolerate the knuckleheads on TKK and would rather stick neddles in my ears than listen to Miller and Schultz. How’s that for balance?

            <

p>Actually if you and Amber Paw were on the radio I might listen only because you may need the help.

What a patriot you are. If a Dem had posted that and made that joke under Bush, you’d be sitting here calling  him a traitor.

as per the comment above that I took to task, when the other guy wins, declare that we need to have an armed revolution to take the country back from the legitimate government that won overwhelming support in the last election because, shit, the sky is falling and the country is no longer a democracy any more so shoot it up and drill, baby, drill.
