  1. I must admit, I always root for the Red Sox but can only name a hanful of palyers and former players at any given time. I think Curt Shilling was the guy who put blood on his own sock so the crowd would think he was playing injured…but that’s all I remember about him…was he a pitcher?…If he calls my house out of context I think I would be more apt to think he was a local plumber…

    • I’m a woman who is probably in the bottom 20% of Massachusetts residents with regard to Red Sox awareness.  But I am quite aware of Schilling’s status as a red-socked Red Sox hero and a right-wing dweeb.
