I can still recall his confirmation hearings and how he was critical to have on board to work through all the problems in the financial sector even if he had issues with filing his taxes correctly. Now with nearly a year under his tenure, I have come to fear something else, Timothy Geitner is part of the problem and not part of the solution. The examples of him taking absolute control with complete disregard for our elected leaders have become almost commonplace. It is time for him to go and if these reports turn out to be true it may not be to his home, might be time for temporary accomodations.

…that he has committed an impeachable or indictable offense. I wish Obama would cut him and others of the Wall Street crowd loose, but you don’t impeach or indict over policy differences.

This evening’s show was devastating. The only salvation for the United States is The People. The President, so far, has shown he won’t fight. Congress is too far bought by the corporations and Wall Street in particular. The Mass Media are not getting the truth out. People like Moyers, Corn and Drum (the latter two of Mother Jones) are an irritant to Wall Street and Congress but the bankers and the politicians know that they have the majority of the electorate by the short hairs and we’re just too stressed and preoccupied with getting by to fight back.
<
p>That must change if we are to right the ship. Only an aroused electorate can save us – I think do not exaggerate – by letting our congressional representatives know in large enough numbers, that we won’t vote for them if they don’t enact genuine reform that benefits The People. Paraphrasing David Corn: more than money, congressmen and senators value votes because only votes = reelection at the end of the day. But The People are running scared and not leaning on Congress. We’ve bought into the message, they say, that we dare not hurt or challenge Wall Street and The Banks, or Doom will befall all of us. Balderdash!
<
p>You may be able to watch the show on the pbs website and it will probably repeat on a couple of the local GBH stations at other times. Highly recommended.

…but I have enough faith in Bill Moyers to rate this a 6 anyway.
