The day after Scott Brown is endorsed by Senator John McCain Brown announces that he is in favor of torture ie Waterbording
Senator John McCain has spoken out strongly against Waterboarding as torture and as being totally un-American.
Will Senator John McCain now withdraw his endorsement of Scott Brown in light of Brown’s support of Torture?
Perhaps, Scott Brown thought he was just being a good German….I mean Good Republicrat!
Please share widely!
The idea that McCain would withdraw his endorsement assumes that he consistently opposes torture. His record doesn’t support that assumption.

p>If you want to understand John McCain, I suggest you read this:
Make-Believe Maverick
This has long been the case. I grew up in California and in 2000 the Republicans were trying to unseat Ellen Tauscher in her then swingy East Bay district. (In 2002, it was Gerrymandered to become Safe Dem) Her Republican challenger was running radio ads attacking Tauscher for not doing a good enough job bringing home the bacon, particularly transportation dollars, since she sat on the Transportation Committee. The spot ended with an endorsement by John McCain. I’m not sure if McCain was kept ignorant of the fact that his endorsement was being used in an ad that promoted pork barrel spending, or if he knew and didn’t care, but either way it reflected very poorly on “Mr. Straight Talk”.
As its most recent nominee for President HE is the titular leader of the party until summer of 2012.
Usually losing presidential candidates get to spend a lot of time out of the limelight. Bob Dole was not a major figure after his loss. Gore and Kerry each had a period of quiet. Neither Mondale nor Dukakis seemed like national leaders during the Reagan Administration the way Tip O’Neil was.

p>McCain is different to the extent that press has tended to like him a lot. (He’s just so mavericky!) He is not part of the Senate Republican leadership.
And Sarah Palin over Mitt? You can’t tell me both parties are not totally dysfunctional.
