In the most recent election, there were 71 locations where the vote was counted by hand. In those hand-counted locations, Martha Coakley won with 51.12% of the vote, compared with Brown at 47.77%.
Interestingly, in 187 locations counted electronically by Diebold machines, the results are almost exactly the opposite. Brown gets 51.41% and Coakley gets 47.62%.
In 91 locations counted by ESS, Brown has his highest margin, achieving 53.64% of the vote, compared with 45.31 for Coakley.
So, why are there such variations?
Is it possible that the electronic voting was hacked in some way?
Is it possible that an accurate count would indicate that she actually won the election?
