So far over 800,000 people have called their Senators about including a public option and passing REAL health care reform in the Virtual March that is going on right now.
Virtual March for Public Option and Real Health Care Reform
Members of MoveOn, Democracy for America, SEIU, True Majority, National Physicians Alliance, Moms Rising and many other groups have joined together in a massive call-in to let Senators know that they want a public option to keep private insurance companies competitive instead of collusive. There’s still some time to join them in making calls and sending faxes.
I called Sen. Brown’s office (202-224-4543) and Sen. Kerry’s office (202-224-2742). I had to call Brown twice because his mailbox was full the first time. I left a nice message with a thank you for helping to break the gridlock in the Senate with his anti-filibuster vote and then asked him to be open-minded about health reform because we in the middle class really need some help out here – more than we are getting from the Massachusetts plan without a public option or enforceable regulations.
Sen. Kerry’s office actually had real people answer the phones, but they didn’t ask your name or town or anything that gave you confidence that the message would reach the Senator. I told him to thank Sen. Kerry for signing a letter urging the inclusion of a public option in the final bill and to ask Sen. Kerry to fight for some way to insure (no pun intended) that the middle class who are underemployed or self-employed have access to quality, affordable health care.
Please call now and leave a message. The coalition would like to reach a million by the end of the day.

and asked him to sign on to it. I did speak to a person. They asked for my name, town and zip code.
