My story is that back in early 2005, I was chatting with Mariposa, aka Susan, and she wanted me to learn about this thing called “blogs.” She had printed out some information. She clearly really, really, wanted me to read the information. She was so passionate that I thought I should make some time. I commented on something that sco wrote about the “Chairs’/Activists Days” that I had organized (with others of course). Although I have been writing Donaghue’s Democratic Dispatch since 2000, and I had been part of the unprecedented DFA use of the internet in 2003/2004 it was a surprise to see my activities discussed on-line. And thus I became BMG’s Kate with PersonID 134. BMG fell off my radar screen until all the controversy around the 2005 Convention and then again until the early days of the 2005/2006 election. Susan asked me to speak at the first “Blog Left” meeting and Cos commented on my support of now LG Tim Murray.
How did you first learn about BMG? If you are a reader or poster, please respond to the poll. I decided to create the poll with one response, because I’m asking for “first.” If you can’t cite a specific first, please make a “best guess” and tell us your story. I’d love to hear all your stories!

p>Significantly fewer responses this time around. I’ll attribute that to the split topic and probaly less time on the front page.
<
p>I’d say the sample is too small to conclude anything meaningful. The most striking difference is the number of people who responded who followed a link from another blog. Are there fewer other blogs that people are reading? Certainly there is a change since 2005, when I started reading blogs. Maybe the difference is the people who were attracted to this post are a different population than the people who were attracted by the 2007 post?
