“I want to thank Representative Brian Wallace for his years of service to the community both as State Representative and as director of the Boys and Girls Club. He is someone who cares deeply about this community and has been a fine public servant. I applaud him for a long, storied career, and wish him and his family well.
Rep. Wallace’s decision not to run for re-election presents an opportunity for our community to engage in a dialogue about the future of South Boston and Dorchester. I have been running for this seat since last November because I love this community and I know that we can work together to continue to strengthen our neighborhoods. Beacon Hill is broken and we need a Representative who will work hard every day to clean-up the waste and abuse that exists, and to restore confidence in public service.
We face real challenges in our neighborhoods and I will be an advocate for our shared concerns. Every day on the campaign trail, I meet as many people as possible in the district, attending community meetings and house parties, and knocking on doors. The voices of our families and seniors are not falling on deaf ears. We all want an excellent choice of schools for local children, development that is community driven and compliments existing small businesses, and solutions to substance abuse issues that plague our neighborhood and destroy families. These concerns are my priorities.
Again, I thank Representative Wallace for his service, and look forward to the opportunity to continue the tradition of a true passion for our community.”
