The Massachusetts Democratic Party’s annual fundraising event, the Roosevelt Dinner, is scheduled for Thursday, April 8. It is always a fun event. This year it will be at the Fairmont Copley Hotel in downtown Boston. I am on the Host Committee and putting together a “table.” Although it is called a dinner, it is “heavy hors ‘d’oeuvres.” This new format allows guests to mingle freely. I do try to stake out a spot for my virtual table so that people have a home base. It’s the best of both worlds. The speeches are concise and the food is good! Through the magic of Act Blue donate here to buy a ticket and be at my table at $250 per person.
In order to allow activists to attend the dinner, the party has established a program called the “Four Hundred Club.” Anyone who raises $400 can attend the event with a guest. I’ve been doing fund raising for years and I assure you that it is both FUN and EASY. I know that they call me relentless, and people joke that they cross the street when they see me coming, but I usually hit my goals! So please consider making a donation. If you are interested in attending as my guest, please let me know (whether or not you make a contribution). Contact me at katedonaghue AT aol DOT com.
If you want to set up your own “Four Hundred” club page, just follow Act Blue’s directions. It’s easy you can sell a ticket at $250 and then buy one at $150. Or just eight $50 donations! While there are those of us who enjoy going, there are others who will contribute money and are happy to NOT attend the dinner. There will be dancing and great conversation! Join us!
