A little more from the article:
The new job is the result of stimulus funding and the state’s investment in career centers, Gov. Deval Patrick said.“It’s not an abstraction,” Patrick said in a phone interview. “It’s a real person – someone who was in pretty desperate straits.”
That’s right folks, this is not an abstraction, this is real world stuff – the results we need from government spending in times of financial crisis. Many Republicans like to argue that FDR’s programs didn’t bring the economy out of the Great Depression, that it was WWII that did that – and yet, what was WWII, if not MASSIVE government spending? Governor Patrick is correct – this is proof positive that the stimulus package and state spending is helping, and will continue to help.
I worked with Lynne for many years at Fidelity – she and I developed a lot of coding standards and best practices for code reviews. I left them last year to start my own business, but that turned out to be a foolish maneuver and I’ve been unemployed since November of last year. I’m off to my local DET to see if I can get this same class…

Very important stuff! People like to jump up and down and complain about waste when lots of good stuff is happening.
