And with Scot Lehigh’s column today so starts the Irish whisper campaign to make everyone believe Stevie Lynch’s ‘not right’. If ya know what I mean? He’s Jimmy Kelly working a different room, that’s all.
Now I wonder whose best interest was served by Scot-man-do today?
Let’s see. Tiger Woods? No. Jay Severin? No. (I love how much Scott can’t stand Jay) Boston Globe? Of course, that’s a given. Mrs. John Henry? No. The Herb Brooks Kid? No.
Mike Capuano? BINGO!
But where could little ole Scot get such inside the beltway info and spin?
Let’s see. Tiger Woods? No. Jay Severin? No. (Again, I love how much Scott hates Jay) Mrs. John Henry? No. The Herb Brooks Kid? No.
Mike Capuano? BINGO again my friend!
Or maybe not. Who knows?

I heard some Pioneer Institute guys on Finneran’s show this morning informing the masses about Deval and Obama’s positions encouraging policies that will change education by encouraging “soft skills”.
Hey Charlie Baker, an issue like this make for some great TV and radio spots. Not to mention a nice talking point to hit on over and over again.
Think Ed King Charlie. Ed King. Find three or four things like this and constantly hit on them. Stay as much away from health care as you can.

I talked to a few people who were at Opening Night at Fenway and they all agreed the place lacked any kind of buzz. It was far from an Opening Day type crowd or a Yankee/Sox crowd.

Speaking of the Sox.
I have the annual African American/ Red Sox Front Office Employees statistics ready to report. Based completely on the Red Sox 2010 Media Guide. But because I’ve been knocking them a lot lately, I will wait. I mean I don’t want people to think I have an unhealthy obsession against these bastards or anything like that.
As a tease I will say it’s good to see that during these tough economic times the Sox didn’t get rid of either of the only two black employees out of 50+ whose mugs were show cased in the guide. Yup. The same two who were hired at least ten years prior to these new guys coming to town.
And just so no one has forgotten here’s a blurb from an NPR piece when they first moved in.
Larry Lucchino, president and CEO of the Red Sox, and part of the new ownership that took over the team in February, acknowledges that along with the team’s positive traditions, the club’s history has included “an undeniable legacy of racial intolerance.”
“You can’t grow up in America as a sports fan and not recognize the role that baseball played both negatively and positively in the racial history of America,” Lucchino says. “And the fact that it took until 1959 for Pumpsie Green to integrate the Sox infield speaks volumes.”
And lets not forget this gem reported by Juan Williams
John Henry, now the principal owner of the Red Sox, says the team has to demonstrate that its attitude on race has changed. “I think we have to make a statement not just in baseball but in our community that diversity is an issue that hasn’t been fully addressed in the past and certainly has to be fully addressed,” he says. “I think it’s important what your actions are. That will really define the franchise going forward.”
Yup, I guess moving forward means not letting go the female African America attorney who came to the organization in the 1980s as a result of “The Jackie Robinson” foundation setting her up after the Dodgers’ Al Campanis told Ted Koppel that blacks don’t have the mental make-up to manage a major league baseball team.
It also means not firing a black dude identified as “pookie” who is an assistant clubhouse guy. That means he is a valet to the players and shines the scuff marks off the baseball shoes. Like the guy at Bushwood Country Club who took care of Judge Shmiels.
I don’t know what happened to all the other sisters and brothers that were working there before we were saved by the holy trinity of Henry, Werner, and Lucchino. I do notice some new cute blondes in this year’s guide. For the most part though, all the pencil pushing jobs are done by white guys.
Bravo Larry, bravo.

Speaking of black dudes, I highly recommend the TV show Everybody Hate Chris. It’s in re-runs on Nick or some channel like that. Watch it and you will know why O.J. was found not guilty.
atticus says
a recovering alcoholic – just ask State Senator Brian Joyce who mentioned it in his run against him.
<
p>It may account for Steve Lynch’s erratic and angry outburst which may have replaced his need for alcohol.
<
p>Time for someone with his/her district constituents in mind to run against Steve Lynch.
<
p>Steve Lynch’s angry and erratic behavior is hurting his district.
<
p>Steve Lynch has to go . . . and it is NOT to the United States Senate. We do not need to replace “Cosmo Boy” Scott Brown with Johnny Walker.
peter-porcupine says
I rememeber liberals used this spiteful strategy against George Bush, calling him a ‘dry drunk’. Temper is part of the ALCOHOLIC personality, you see – sort of like Calvinist predestination. Even if you do turn you life around, it’s never enough.
<
p>Is it the difficult escape from dependency, proving it can be done without the help of a qualified state-paid expert, that so incenses Democrats? What have they got against sobriety and responsiblity?
atticus says
Any sensible person wishes him complete sobriety.
<
p>Are you saying that his erratic and nasty behavior is just his natural personality – drunk or sober ?
<
p>Mr. Lynch should remember he is no longer a steel worker who can punch a pro-busing marcher in the face as he did at a rally on Boston City Hall Plaza in the early 1970’s but a United States Congressman and a degree of decorum is required.
<
p>As Scot Lehigh wrote that is something Lynch has failed to learn and which negatively affects the district he represents.
dcsurfer says
and no doubt his district too.
