In the little town of Millbury, in south central Massachusetts, political newcomer and Republican Town Committee vice-chair Brian Ashmankas defeated 12 year incumbent democrat Joe Coggans 1,072 to 917. Sorry to wake you, you’re still having that darned bad dream! Mr. Ashmankas won the old fashioned way, he earned it! I noticed him knocking on doors near the town border last month. I attended his hot dog social last week. The better man won. Scott Brown never made an appearance. This was strictly a grass roots victory.
Please share widely!

You know, dear billxi, I still get all very weepy, and dejected, and sad, and despondent, and dolorous, and glum, and gloomy when I think about that mean, no good Scott Brown taking away a Senate seat. How could he???!!! What a meany!! What a no goodnik!! … Then I get all teary, and stuff …and cry into my pillow. I wake up next morning. It’s ruined from the tear soaking. I have to buy so many pillows!! It makes me so sad, billxi, so sad. š (That’s me being sad.)

p>Thank you for posting this. I’m glad that the old-fashioned Brian Ashmankas won with out any of the meanie Scott Brown sticking his meanie hands into matters. I agree with you!! Screw him!! Screw that Scott Brown!! Thank you for that and your strict grassy victory.

There’s an old saying in politics.
<
p>It’s “Speak with moderation, govern for your base.”
<
p>That’s what’s Scott Brown (R-MA) is doing.
<
p>His not appearing for events such as Republican Town Committee vice-chair Brian Ashmankas winning and the Tea
Party event with Sarah Palin at Boston Common makes him seen “moderate” to the uninformed because he’s not going to “conservative” events.
<
p>Meanwhile, he has a chance to give his votes and speeches to the right wing in the US Senate, where it counts.
<
p>In recent decades, Massachusetts has given its support to the Democrats, not the Republicans, in most elections. Therefore, Scott Brown needs to seem “moderate” if he wants to get re-elected. He can’t “let it rip” and get re-elected.
<
p>And do you know who agrees with me in this analysis?
<
p>Jay Severin, the 96.9 FM Talk Radio Host whose old job was GETTING REPUBLICANS ELECTED.
<
p>He has more or less said the same thing as I’m talking about on his show.
<
p>Different people can get the same idea on their own without any contact.

Given the lack of a link or any context, I have to presume that this was some sort of selectman’s election? I should care why?
<
p>Sorry, billy, but a non-partisan race in 1 of the Bay State’s 351 municipalities proves nothing.

Obviously Democrats are in a rough spot, and obviously they’d be lucky to hold on to their current ground. But crowing about eking out a win in a suburban town election is pathetic.
<
p>A long-serving Republican selectman in Wareham was turfed out on his rear in their town election…do you see me thinking it makes a difference?

p>You’re acting like the Detroit Lions excited about kicking a field goal.

Oh this is awful…please stay the same billxi!!! Dont loose your charm…You’re so cute the way you are now!

A union carpenter (and co-owner of a union painting company) ousted the incumbent Chairman of the Rockland Board of Selectmen last month. Clearly I was remiss in not reporting this sweeping trend across the Commonwealth.

Third time in a row. Oh, and some guy who’s been on the Housing Authority since mudhuts were the rage lost. LOST! By 500 votes.
