Post on the Draft Harmony Wu Facebook page:
Primaries are one way to demand accountability, and I hope a progressive candidate will step forward to challenge Mr. Lynch. But there are other avenues of advocacy, too, and we must take the long view. While we presently do not have a primary challenge, we do now have a community of citizens, inside and outside of our district, who are putting Mr. Lynch on notice and demanding change. And when we have a community focused on action, we can make that change happen.
OK, Rep. Lynch is now on notice that there is a demand for change, and that at least some of its advocates are taking the long view. Of course, as Keynes famously said, “The long run is a misleading guide to current affairs. In the long run we are all dead.”

I had a feeling she would stay out of the race since she mentioned her concern for time with her family on the post. Phil did terribly against Lynch in the last primary and has no shot as an independent candidate. It is time to start thinking serious progressive leaders in the district with bigger profiles that could possibly challenge Lynch. This is a race we need the Khazei’s and the Yoon’s for not quixotic bids for offices they can’t get.

Even $teve Pagliuca would be an improvement, at least he would vote the right way.

But I agree that the high-profile flameout is getting to be an old story in Massachusetts Democratic politics. There’s a parade of people who claim to want change, but their interest wanes when the tv cameras go away.

(though possibly a political liability) to live in the district.

Lynch is the definition of DINO, in every way.
