The part of the ad which works well is the second part where Cahill speaks. Its better than his kitchen ad.
<
p>But the first part where they attack the RGA doesn’t work. It clearly lays out that the RGA is an out of state Republican attack machine – but the kind of voters that Cahill is going after are Republicans. So attacking the RGA is going to damage Cahill’s attempt to be ‘the real consevative’ in this race.

p>My beef: “Our state lottery has returned over $6B to taxpayers.” OK, my question is: how much money did the state lottery take from state taxpayers? Answer: more than $6B. After all, they have expenses. Furthermore, those expenses include out of state expenses, notably advertising. So, what the lottery is really doing is redistribution wealth from a subsection of mostly lower income earners and distributing it to muni budgets and some out of state vendors. End result: less total wealth in the state.

<
p>My immediate criticism, when I watched it the first time, is that it effectively convinces me to vote for Tim Cahill for Treasurer.
<
p>Ok, Done. I’ll do that.
<
p>The ad may move some “independents” away from the GOP and towards the Democrats. Good.
<
p>All in all, as a Deval Patrick supporter, I think this is a great ad. I hope it keeps running.
