Just a couple of days ago Charlie Baker couldn’t remember whether or not he voted for some property tax hikes in his hometown of Swampscott. (Hint: he did.)
Now, his memory problem has gotten worse. Check this out (the full interview is available at Channel 5’s website).
And the two guys I’m running against are both on Beacon Hill, and have been there, and I haven’t.
Oh dear.
Charlie, I hate to break it you, but you actually have been on Beacon Hill. A lot. You spent like seven years going to work there every day. Does “Secretary of Administration and Finance in the mid-1990s, when the Big Dig was spiraling out of control” jog your memory?
You, in other words, are a Beacon Hill insider. But that’s not important right now – what is more pressing is your sudden amnesia about politically awkward facts. You ought to have that checked out right away.
HT Patrick.

he’s got pretty decent mental health benefits, so he won’t even have to worry about having to pay out-of-pocket for quite some time. That dementia work-up his primary care provider should initiate is covered, too. Just sayin’.

I just got push-polled from a “telephone survey” that first asked if I was a Republican, a Democrat or an Independent. It then asked, “If you knew that unemployment went up to more than 10% under Deval Patrick, would you be more or less likely to vote for him?” Is this the Republican Governors or is this Charlie Baker sponsoring the fake telephone survey?

whether it was the Baker campaign or the RGA. Either way, the time to start challenging these peoples’ lies and distortions is now and not later.
<
p>For example, “I know that that unemployment went up to more than 10% as a result of free market fundamentalism, which has been grinding the middle class of this country down for 30 years. Which is why I won’t vote for any candidate, Republican or Independent, who still accepts that completely discredited idea.”
<
p>Excuse me for stating the obvious. But the Republican Lie Machine is picking up speed and making fun of it won’t be enough to stop it. To win, we also have to confront it with the truth, as David does in the comment above.
