Folks around here are plugged in enough to know about the Cape Wind project. What you may be in the dark about is the three public hearings coming up quickly. Renew your interest. Take charge of our future. Speak truth to power. Show up and let the regulators know that Cape Wind is one important part of transforming our electric supply from dirty imported coal, oil, and (less dirty) natural gas to one of diverse renewable fuels which provide more local jobs, more price stability, and cleaner air and water. So, put on your shawl, don your turban, and testify!

I spoke with Mark Rodgers (Cape Wind’s Communications Director) this past Friday for about an hour about the project, to learn more details about the pricing scheme and it’s impact on both NGrid and non-NGrid customers, it’s interaction with peak demand, the number of local jobs per MWh generated, RPS, RECs, and a host of other items.

p>He asked that I post this diary to draw attention to the hearings, and I was happy to do so.
